We loved the serene ambiance of the hotel, surrounded by mountains. The outdoor private onsen was a highlight, providing breathtaking views. The yukata provided by the hotel, including one for babies, was a nice touch. The location was perfect - a short walk down the hill to the historic city center.
Can't fault anything about it.

The house Onsen is great, with Onsen outside even. The lobby is very nice in Japanese style with its own small shop.
The Western rooms have unfortunately stopped in time and look very baked. The bathroom is small and for a 4-star hotel it doesn't have such a nice selection of products as a 3-star hotel in Tokyo. I expected more from the room. . However, the staff is very nice and courteous.

Very friendly staff, good traditional cuisine
Furnishing in the room has a slightly dilapidated charm. Bad smell from the sink

I had a wonderful stay at this luxurious hotel. the location was perfect – situated on a little hill, it was within walking distance of all the places I wanted to go. The stunning views from my room were truly breathtaking. Secondly, the service was exceptional. The staff were friendly, helpful, and genuinely welcoming, making me feel right at home. The room amenities were top-notch, including heating, air conditioning, and a mini-bar to ensure complete comfort. Lastly, the hotel had a beautiful terrace where I could relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. I was thoroughly impressed with this venue.
I would highly recommend this hotel to my family and friends for an unforgettable experience.

Restaurant in the old style with tatamis / tables in the Séparé, got genuine Japanese, fine vegetarian food, also without fish powder spice! but 4 days identical food. Ofuro with two outdoor pools - generous. lots of staff in the reception area - very busy
Rooms were clean, but somehow looked dirty old. no hairdryer in the room (everything in the Ofuro). Bathroom extremely narrow

Great view from the room and convenient location close to the old city. the complimentary pick-up service from the train station was useful. the staff was helpful and provided information on nearby attractions.
The hotel smelled of smoke and the lounge area and upholstery seemed old and worn. the food was unappetizing, and the public bath was dirty with debris in the water.

The traditional Japanese room and low furniture gave a unique experience. The breakfast was delicious with a range of traditional Japanese dishes. The hotel offered a free shuttle service to the train station, which was very convenient. The location was quiet and peaceful, which made for a great night's sleep.
The onsen wasn't available for all guests, which was slightly disappointing. , the room had molded fittings for the bathroom and toilet, which gave it a bit of a "plastic" feel.

the location was convenient, as it was just a short walk down the hill to the historic city center. the staff was friendly and accommodating, providing a great service from check, in to check, out. the room had comfortable futons for sleeping and the bathroom facilities were clean and well, maintained. Breakfast was served in traditional Japanese style and was delicious. the public baths offered great facilities to relax.
The common lounge area had a strong odor of cigarette smoke that was unpleasant.
